Vintage Schwinn Slik Chik
January 5, 2021Jason found us online and shipped his vintage Hedstrom tricycle to us for restoration from Miami. He wanted it done as a surprise Christmas present for his wife. It took some digging to source parts to keep the tricycle original but we pulled it off! Here is Jason's response: "Our family absolutely loved the restored tricycle and were completely blown away! No one could believe the quality of restoration and thought it was brand new. Needless to say, all of the memories and nostalgia were a hit on Christmas Day! Thank you so much for taking on this project. This tricycle means so much to our family and now another generation of children get to enjoy it. It could not have come out any better! Thank you so much!!!"

Will you do mine?!?
It was my childhood best friend’s.
His parents put it in the trash and I snagged it.
I was secretly saving it for him for when he had a grandchild.
And now, his son is expecting his first in November.
And he, my friend, died yesterday unexpectedly from a heart attack.
I want to present this to them for their little boy due in November. They would love knowing that it was Rhett’s.
Do you think you would have time/resources?
Please o please.
I am so sorry to hear about your friend Rhett. Unfortunately, we can’t restore the tricycle in time for November 2025 as we have a pretty full plate of restoration work. Some restorations take a year or more because we have to source parts, or send parts out for chrome. The chrome process alone takes a minimum of 8 weeks and is quite expensive. That service is billed directly to our customers and must be paid before they beging the work. As far as our processes, a restoration like the Hedstrom Tricycle can cost between $800 and $1,000. Thank you for contacting us and we wish you lots of love and luck for the future.
